About Me

Becky Rowe was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin to two wonderful parents in the 1960’s. As a young Kindergartner Becky’s teacher recognized that she had natural artistic abilities. Thankfully her parents heeded her teacher’s advice and enrolled her in the Milwaukee school of Art at age 5. From that point on Becky immersed herself in the world of art by creating through various mediums. Becky spent most of her youth living in Northern California.
Becky studied at CSULB and Chico State graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Design and a Minor in Art History. Out of college Becky worked as an Interior Designer for John Matthems International Design Group in the Carmel area.  She then opened her first Business “Rembrats” in 1991, in which she created Furniture and Artwork, including Murals for Children’s Rooms.  Becky went on to Manage Nona’s Gallery in Long Beach CA where she spent hours studying artists and sketching. After having her first child Becky moved to Northern CA.  She opened a Design Studio out of her home and continued on to have a successful career in the field of Interior Architectural Design, working in and around the Napa Valley.  In 2010 she was the Founder and CEO of Le Reve Design & Assoc. in the Bay Area.  During these years Becky painted and sold Commissioned Artworks to various clients, friends, and family.
In 2015 the opportunity arose to move overseas with her husband.  His Job, located in Italy, offered Becky the chance to truly throw herself into self-study and explore the museums and cultures of Europe. She wasn’t allowed to work off the Italian economy so she finally had the time to paint full time.  Living overseas allowed Becky to gather an extensive resource library, both in her mind and on camera, which Becky draws from for her paintings. It’s through travel and work experiences that she has the ability to reflect what she sees so naturally.
Upon returning to the States Becky had the guidance of a mentor, Brenda Semanick.  Although Becky received Oil and Watercolor Painting instruction in college, she truly credits Brenda for fine tuning her skills.  Becky currently loves working in oil paint but her artwork is ever evolving.  She will continue growing and changing as she creates new pieces.
Artist Statement;
“My goal is to paint with a concise use of color and brushstroke to reflect shape and light.  I want my paintings to feel loose and painterly, yet truthful.  I hope to pull the viewer into each painting to take closer look at how it was created.  I look at the world through a colorful yet dimensional lens, always searching for beauty and composition. I consider it a blessing to be able to share my view of the world through my art.”
