American Women Artist Illuminate the Haggin Museum Show
I've recently found out about a American Women Artist's Show I'm thinking about entering. It is an online juried show and here is the link.
There is something about the mood set by the low lying clouds and mountains in both of these scenes that really touches me. I currently do not paint in the same style as the artist Albert Bierstadt , he is very detailed and controlled, but I think I can achieve a lot by attempting this challenge.
I will post my finished piece if I decide to enter it or not. I think it is always good to step out of your comfort zone and try something different.
Wish me luck : )
This show seems interesting to me because they want you to get inspired by one of 13 old masterpieces. You are then instructed to create a new work of art from your chosen artist of inspiration. I have a unique picture of the golf course we lived on in Italy and it really reminds me of the work of Albert Bierstadt. I'm hoping to paint this landscape this month and we shall see if it is worthy of entering when I am completed with it. Here is the photo of Albert's work that inspired me to dig out my photograph.
Here is my photograph of the Italian Alps from Bogogno Golf Club, Italy.
