Volunteering can be rewarding in so many ways.

I have always wanted to own a ranch of my own with tons of animals, but that really never worked into my life plan.  So instead of making my husband "buy the farm" I though I better find an outlet for my obsession.
I had a horse growing up in Colorado and I can honestly say I never got over having to sell her.  Horses are like giant sweet dogs you can ride.  When we moved to Tucson AZ I was so excited to find there are many ranches available to visit and ride.  I decided to Volunteer for TRAK, a Therapeutic Ranch for Animals and Kids.  Not only is this rewarding being around the animals, but the kids completely make my day.
Please meet Wilbur, he is the ranches "Main Pig".  He is very difficult to catch a good photo of because you can rarely see his eyes!  He is also always covered in mud, go figure.  But one afternoon I caught him sleeping in the sun and I snapped this great shot.  I immediately painted it that week and I absolutely love this piece.  It really captures this little pig that is now very dear to my heart.  I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I do.
Now go out and volunteer and make a difference in someones day...or maybe some Pigs : ).
